I am a long-time fan of S&L. The first product I purchased from them was over four years ago, a dark grey t-shirt in their Philly location. I remember walking in, feeling a bit of sticker shock, and thinking, "Alright, I'll walk out with a T-Shirt and see how I feel later."

That first purchase set off a consistent buying trend where I would reward myself with a few pieces of their clothing every few months. That first T, despite dozens of wears, countless washes, and pulls and tugs from two energetic daughters, still goes as strong as the day I bought it.

This is all to say that S&L builds for quality. That initial sticker shock has long since faded because I know that when I buy an article of clothing from them, it will last for years. You quickly realize that the initial price far outweighs bargains that fade (looking at you, Born Primitive).

But that’s just the cost. It’s the fit that truly makes me smile. As a 5'9" athletic male, I want a shirt that showcases my hard work without overselling it. The "Athletic fit" branding is inconsistent among retailers. Places like Tailored Athlete want you to believe it means super tight, but that’s not the case with S&L.

At 40 this year, I subscribe to the theory that investing in your well-being is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family. To have clothing that represents that effort tastefully is rare.
